Privacy policy
This page explains what personal data Skatek AS collects through skatek.com and skatek.no, why we collect it, and the rights you have. We collect as little as we can. The site uses no advertising or tracking cookies.

When you contact us
When you send the form on the distributors page, we receive what you fill in: your name, email address, company, country, number of technicians, rooms per month, your message and the reason for getting in touch.
We use it to answer you, book an intro call, put you in touch with a distributor, or assess an enquiry about becoming a distributor. The legal basis is your request and our legitimate interest in replying to business enquiries (GDPR article 6(1)(b) and (f)).
Newsletter
If you sign up for the newsletter, we store your email address, the language of the site you signed up on and the date. We use it only to email you when we publish a new blog post or launch a new product. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR article 6(1)(a)).
Every email has a link to unsubscribe. When you use it, we delete your address at once. You can also ask us to remove you at info@skatek.no.
Website statistics
We count visits with Plausible Analytics so we know which pages are useful. Plausible sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Your IP address is only used to create a daily changing, anonymous identifier and is not stored. We cannot identify you from the statistics, and the data is stored in the EU. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (GDPR article 6(1)(f)).
Technical logs
Our hosting provider processes technical data such as IP address, browser type and the time of the request to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. These logs are kept for a short period. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR article 6(1)(f)).
Cookies
We use one functional cookie, skatek_stay_en. It is only set when you choose a language in the language menu, and it remembers that choice for up to 12 months. Because you ask for it, it does not need consent. We use no cookies for statistics, advertising or tracking.
Who we share data with
We use these providers to run the site. They process data on our behalf under data processing agreements:
- Vercel Inc. (USA): hosting of the website
- Supabase Inc.: database for enquiries and newsletter sign-ups, stored in London, United Kingdom
- Resend Inc. (USA): sending the newsletter, and the email notification to us when an enquiry arrives
- Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia, EU): website statistics without personal data
If we put you in touch with a distributor, we share your contact details and enquiry with that distributor, and only then. We do not sell personal data. We disclose data to public authorities only when the law requires it.
Transfers outside the EEA
The United Kingdom has an adequacy decision from the EU. For providers in the USA, transfers are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
We keep enquiries as long as we need them to follow up, and for as long as a customer or distributor relationship lasts. Enquiries that do not lead to a relationship are deleted within 24 months. If an enquiry leads to a sale, documentation is kept as long as Norwegian accounting law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for access to the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive it in a portable format. Contact us at info@skatek.no and we will reply within one month.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.no) or the data protection authority in your country.

We update this page when the way we handle data changes, and the date at the top shows the latest version.
