Skatek secures NOK 400,000 Innovation Norway grant to take ExHale international

Skatek has received a NOK 400,000 Start-up Grant 2 from Innovation Norway. The grant goes to taking ExHale, our bed bug monitoring aerosol, to pest control companies outside Norway.
Why ExHale
We built ExHale for pest control technicians. It imitates a sleeping person, so bed bugs leave their hiding places and the technician can find them. Two things make that work:
- The aerosol is made to smell like a person to a bed bug. That is why we call it "a man in a can".
- The dispenser releases it on a schedule the technician sets, at night when bed bugs are active. The bed bugs sense the CO₂, come out of hiding and can be found.
For the technician, that means less time spent on each room and a clear way to check the result after a treatment. It also looks more professional in a client's home than a block of dry ice, and it is easy to carry, store and use.
Innovation Norway's support
Innovation Norway supported the first phase with a NOK 200,000 market clarification grant. That helped us refine ExHale and understand the market for it.
The new grant lets us step up the work of getting ExHale to pest control companies in more countries. We are grateful for Innovation Norway's continued support.
Looking ahead
With this support, we can bring ExHale to more technicians and keep developing tools that help them find bed bugs early and confirm that a job is done. You can read more about ExHale, or get in touch if you want to work with us.
